Partners

HOPE is able to enhance the results it creates by working with other individuals and organizations who share our desire to create opportunities for economic and community development and to make a difference in the region. Only with the involvement of partners at the state, local, and national levels can we work as successfully as we do.

The following list highlights some of our key partner organizations and how we work with them to achieve our goals.

  • Small Business Administration - HOPE works with financing partners and the SBA to structure commercial loan opportunities with government guarantees and other credit enhancements.  This allows HOPE to leverage its funds and extend economic opportunities to more borrowers.
  • Collaborative for Enterprise Development - HOPE and CED work with other organizations to support the redevelopment of businesses in New Orleans after the 2005 storms.  CED members provide business planning assistance, credit counseling, marketing assistance, accounting system development, working capital loans and equity investment opportunities.
  • Mississippi Council on Economic Education - HOPE provided financial support to MCEE's efforts to make high school graduates financially and economically literate through the Financial Fitness for Life program.  The effort provided 30 economics teachers in selected schools with research-based lessons to teach their senior students financial literacy and financial incentives for students who achieve a high level of competency with the program. The program reached approximately 3,500 students.
  • Gulf Coast Renaissance Corporation - GCRC has contracted with ECD/HOPE to provide financial counseling to residents affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita as part of its "My Coast My Home" program.  In addition, program participants may apply for home financing from HOPE Mortgage.
