These are some of the most commonly asked questions about the HOPE Platinum and Platinum Rewards MasterCard program.

Q: I'm interested in getting a new HOPE Platinum or Platinum Rewards MasterCard. How can I apply?
A: Applying for a HOPE Platinum MasterCard is easy.  You can either:

Q: What types of credit card do you offer?
A: HOPE offers four MasterCard plans. Applicants may apply for:

  • Unsecured Platinum MasterCard
  • Secured Platinum MasterCard
  • Unsecured Platinum Rewards MasterCard
  • Secured Platinum Rewards MasterCard

Q: What is the benefit of choosing a HOPE Platinum MasterCard?
A: There are a number of reasons to carry one of our credit cards.

  • HOPE's interest rates are very competitive, ranging from 8% to 18%
  • Our interest rate will never exceed 18%
  • Our introductory rate is 4.99% for 6 months on all purchases and 4.99% for 12 months on balance transfers.
  • Maximum credit limit of $10,000 for eligible cardholders
  • Lots of perks with both the Platinum and Platinum Rewards cards

Q: How many credit cards can I have with HOPE?
A: A single cardholder can have only one credit card with HOPE.

Q: What is the minimum and maximum credit limit I can get?
A: Your credit limit will be determined by your credit history during application processing.

Q: How is my interest rate determined?
A: Your credit score will determine your interest rate, and will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate reported in The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

Q: Do you offer a MasterCard Business Credit Card?
A: HOPE Platinum MasterCards are for personal use only.

Q: What is the difference between a fixed rate and a variable rate credit card?
A: HOPE's MasterCards carry a variable rate.  This means your rate will change when the Wall Street Journal Prime Rate changes.  Interest rates on fixed rate cards remain the same for the life of the card. Most financial institutions have changed their credit card rates from a fixed rate to a variable rate. Remember: your interest rate will never exceed 18%.

Q: How is my monthly payment calculated?
A: Your monthly payment is calculated from your Daily Periodic Rate (DPR).  Please refer to your Opening Disclosure for more details.

Q: Where can I find my monthly payment amount?
A: The amount of your minimum monthly payment is located on the first page of your monthly statement. You may also find your minimum monthly payment on-line at HOPE's Infolink card management site.

Q: When is my monthly payment due?
A: The due date of your monthly payment can be found on the first page of your statement.  It will always fall on the same day of the month.  You can also check your due date at HOPE's Infolink card management site.

Q: How can I pay my bill?
A: You have several options for paying your HOPE Platinum MasterCard bill. 

  • Make a payment by visiting a HOPE branch
  • Use HOPE's Infolink service to pay your bill online
  • Mail a check or money order to the address listed on your statement 

Q: How do I pay my bill online?
A: Go to the HOPE Infolink site. Registered cardholders can login and manage their account.  First-time visitors to the site can follow a step-by-step guide found in the "New User Registration" section of the site. 

Q: Which payment methods charges incur a fee and which do not?
A: Payments made via telephone will be charged a $5 fee by our credit card processing company.  Payments submitted via automatic drafts (AutoPay) from a checking or savings account, in person at a HOPE branch, and payments made online are all free of charge.

Q: What is the deadline to make a payment before I am assessed a late fee?
A: You will incur a late fee for any payments received after 5:00 pm Central Standard Time (CST) on the day your payment is due.  Those payments are not posted to your account until the next business day.  If the due date falls on Saturday or Sunday, all payments received will post on the next business day and no late fee will be charged. 

Q: Where can I locate information concerning what fees may be assessed?
A: You received an Opening Disclosure when you were approved for a HOPE MasterCard.  All applicable fees as well as the terms and conditioned associated with your credit card can be found there.

Q: What does Opt-in and Opt-Out mean?
A: Opt-in means you choose to enroll into a service, and opt-out means to you decide to be removed from that service. 

Q: Which services are available that allow me to Opt-in or Opt-out of and how is it done?
A: You may Opt-in or Opt-out of the HOPE MasterCard Rewards Program when you apply for a new credit card or at any point in time by contacting our Member Service Center or visiting a HOPE branch. 

Q: What are some of the benefits of the rewards program?
A: With the HOPE Rewards program, cardholders will be eligible to earn points toward their choice of travel, gift cards, merchandise, and more.  New applicants will earn 1,000 bonus points with their first purchase transaction. Point redemption starts as low as 2,500 points.

Q: How can I determine how many points I have accumulated?
A: The total reward points the cardholder has accumulated will appear on each monthly statement. Cardholders may also view their account on-line at the CU Rewards site. 

Q: Where do I go to redeem my reward points?
A: Reward points must be redeemed online by clicking on the HOPE Rewards Program link or visiting http://www.curewards.com/ and entering your login ID and password.  If you have never logged into this site, click the "Register" button found in the "New Members" section to establish your member login and password.

Q: When am I allowed to redeem points?
A: Cardholders may redeem points when they have earned sufficient points for the award level desired.  HOPE's Platinum Rewards MasterCard account must be open and in good standing (not cancelled or terminated) at time of redemption. Awards are not available when the cardholder is in default under the Credit Card Agreement.

Q: Who should I contact in the event my credit card is lost or stolen, fraud is suspected, or to dispute a transaction(s)?
A: You should contact PSCU-Financial Services toll-free at 1-800-449-7728.  They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Q: How can I obtain information about my account?
A: You have several options for checking the status of your account.  You may:

  • Contact PSCU, our credit card processor, toll-free at 1-800-654-7728 24-hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Call HOPE toll-free at 1-866-321-4673 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday
  • Use the HOPE Infolink site to check your account online.
