Merger Announcement – 10/23/17

Tri-Rivers Credit Union (Tri-Rivers) has a proud tradition of serving the needs of residents and businesses in central Alabama for more than 55 years. When Tri-Rivers was founded as Montgomery Teachers Federal Credit Union, no one ever dreamed it would touch so many lives and see so much change.

Over the years, as financial landscapes have become more challenging, Tri-Rivers has been there to assist members with quality products and dependable service. The continued stresses and uncertainty of the current financial landscape means that organizations like Tri-Rivers are even more important as people look for a financial institution that puts their needs first.

In order to ensure that Tri-Rivers members have the best financial solutions during these challenging economic times and in the future, the Tri-Rivers Board of Directors has agreed to a merger with Hope Credit Union (HOPE). The merger received final approval from regulatory agencies on Friday, October 20, 2017, and will become effective October 31, 2017.

HOPE is not your ordinary credit union. Started in 1995 as a small church project with big dreams, HOPE is a community development credit union that helps people across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and now Alabama, build a solid financial foundation.

HOPE provides affordable financial services that help individuals, families, businesses, and communities secure their futures. Since 1994, HOPE and its sponsor, Hope Enterprise Corporation, have generated over $2 billion in financing and brought economic opportunities to more than 1 million people in economically distressed areas throughout the region.

The merger will extend additional products and services to Tri-Rivers members, and it will enable HOPE to serve even more working families throughout the South. As we begin this new and exciting partnership, your day-to-day interaction with Tri-Rivers will remain largely unchanged and you will continue to have access to all the financial products you currently enjoy.

We will let you know about important account and operational updates as all of our systems are integrated over the next several months. In the meantime, we are committed to providing the service you deserve as a member-owner of your credit union. Your day-to-day interaction with Tri-Rivers will remain largely unchanged and you will continue to have access to all the financial products you currently enjoy. Your deposits will also continue to be insured for up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration.

HOPE is honored to welcome the Tri-Rivers community into our family. In the weeks ahead, you will receive additional information about the merger and the benefits available through HOPE.

Once again, we thank you for your support of Tri-Rivers over the years and look forward to the privilege of serving you in the future.
