Mary Bruce Alford

Mary Bruce Alford is the Senior Vice President of Investor Relations. In her role, she is responsible for managing relationships with funders and investors and developing a diverse capital base, including corporate, foundation, government and socially responsible investors. These funders and investors help fuel HOPE’s work to strengthen communities, build assets and improve lives in economically distressed areas of the Deep South.

While at HOPE, Mary Bruce has contributed to raising more than $100MM to support HOPE’s work, including launching a capital campaign. Prior to joining HOPE, Mary Bruce led efforts within The Trust for Public Land – a national non-profit that creates parks for people – to track and monitor research on Conservation Finance funding mechanisms across the country. In this capacity, she also worked with state and local governments and non-profit partners to create public funding for land conservation. Mary Bruce has served as Trustee of the Cloud Forest School Foundation, holds a master’s in public policy and administration from Mississippi State University and a B.A. in Environmental Policy from Sewanee: The University of the South.
